At Kawah Coffee, our roots run deep — in the Rwandan soil, in generational legacy, and in our unwavering belief that coffee can be a force for good.
In 2004, my father returned to our family’s land near Lake Kivu to rebuild what had been lost during the war. What started as a commitment to replant coffee trees soon became a vision of regeneration — for the land, for our people, and for our future.
Today, Kawah Coffee is 90% women-farmer powered. We provide health insurance, early childhood education, and we pay above-market prices to ensure our community thrives. But there’s one challenge we can’t ignore:
Coffee is seasonal. But the need for opportunity isn’t.
This year, we’re launching a crowdfunding campaign to build a skills training center right here on our coffee farm.
A place where local women and youth can learn:
- English language skills
- Financial literacy
- Entrepreneurship
- Hospitality and barista skills
This center will provide year-round access to tools and training — transforming off-season months into windows of possibility.
We hope you’ll join us.
