In the hills of Kinunu, where rich soil meets resilient hands, something powerful is about to happen. This August, Kawah Coffee is honored to welcome a team of cyclists from Ride for Unity on the farm for their Rwanda Ride to Reconnection — a journey that blends physical endurance with emotional impact, and coffee farming with cultural exchange.
But let’s back up for a moment.
Who is Ride for Unity?
Ride for Unity (RFU) is a global cycling movement on a mission to connect people through sport and solidarity. Founded to break down barriers and foster understanding across cultures, RFU organizes rides that are as meaningful as they are challenging — often raising awareness and funds for grassroots, community-led initiatives. From the UK to Ghana to Rwanda, their wheels have turned in the direction of justice, wellness, and unity.
This year, they chose Kawah Coffee’s farm and community as one of their local partner in Rwanda. And we couldn’t be prouder.
From Pedals to Plantation
During their visit, RFU riders will swap cycling jerseys for work gloves, spending the day alongside our farmers on the coffee plantation. Together, they’ll pick cherries, sort beans, and experience the daily rhythm of farm life — gaining a deeper appreciation for what ethical, woman-powered coffee truly means.
But it’s not just about the work.
The night before, under a sky full of stars, we’ll gather for a fireside dinner:
🔥 Rwandan storytelling
💃🏽 Traditional dances taught by our farmers
💛 Laughter, connection, and a shared commitment to purpose-driven living
Why It Matters
In a world that often feels divided, this collaboration is a reminder of what’s possible when people from different walks of life come together with open hearts and shared values.
At Kawah Coffee, we’re not just growing beans. We’re growing opportunities, community, and now — connection beyond borders.
Thank you to Ride for Unity for riding with us, working with us, and believing in our mission from day one.
We’ll never forget the bonds built over bicycles, stories, and strong coffee.
